Yay poop!

A smidgen of good news--mom had her chest tube out this morning.  It was in there to drain fluids from her chest cavity after the surgery on her lower back.  Also, yesterday she was breathing too fast, but today she's back to normal, probably due to the pneumonia treatment taking effect (antibiotics and draining her lungs).

She is going to kill me for saying this, but she also had her first bowel movement since the accident.  That sh** makes me happy because the T12 (vertebra in lower back) was smashed to smithereens and the spinal cord there controls bowel and bladder function.  Yay poop!

Love,
Amy

P.S. Make sure you scroll down because I'm putting some pictures on the blog.

Wow. I can't believe the pictures of the car. I'm glad to read some good news about Janet. I would offer to go up, but I'm still tied to my air purifiers for my allergies. My girls will finish school before Memorial Day, and if you need help further on out, we could probably work something with them to go for a week or so each in rotation over the summer. Let us know what you need: Teresa Liu 714-776-4945, tjnjyl@msn.com

Ditto what Teresa Liu said about making a trip for a week to help out if needed. I know that will be a while yet, but keep me in mind.

I can't believe the pictures of the car either. It truly is a miracle Janet only suffered the injuries she has. Obviously, God intended for both Brian and Janet to continue their lives.

I'm glad there's good news today, and hope for more each day. Keep up the good work.

Wow, shocking pictures of the car. Am glad that I also drive a Toyota! I thought of you this morning as I was out looking for my cat Tom, who hadn't come in for breakfast. I suddenly remembered that the shelter where we adopted them mandated that they be implanted with locater chip thingies. I hadn't thought about that in 2 years. I don't suppose the same was the case with Rita & Sylvia? Thanks for the regular blogging; it's wonderful to log on and find fresh news. Love, Mary

Thanks for keeping us up to date and so happy to hear the good news. The state of the car is unimagineable and God truly has a special place in THIS world for both of them! Seeing Janet's smile and the two of them with grandkids, we know why!!!
Love and prayers to you all, Linda and Frank
