We need one more for Friday and then 2 for Sunday.
My mom was feeling a little down this afternoon because the halo is so heavy and constricting. However, she got up and into a wheelchair with the physical therapist and we wheeled down to the gift shop! The other pic is Derek and Anna at the zoo.

I love the shopping trip to the gift shop. I knew it wouldn't be long. I will call Saturday at 10:30. Love
to all, Elaine
Janet, you've always been able to shop for two! I'm here in Maui and haven't bought a thing -- Liz bought a ukelele, but she's incapable of not taking up the challenge of a new musical instrument. Hang in there -- we love you,
Carolyn
Hi, I will call Janet on Saturday
in the afternoon, around 2 pm.
Bruce.
Janet........Looks like all is looking up if you can shop in your "halo" and a wheelchair. Nice going!!!!! However, I'm sure you'll find out soon that the hospital gift shop is no place to find a real BARGAIN. Anyway, glad to see your priorities in the right order. So glad you're doing so awesomely.
Love, Judy Z
Carolyn will call on Friday at 11:00 am, Idaho time.
Aloha -
Liz
Janet,
God knows you have every right to be down but, at the risk of being trite, this too will pass. You are showing us all exactly what courage and love are all about and how to "do" them. It gave me a good feeling to see you out of that damned bed and at the gift shop.
I cannot wait to hear your voice tomorrow when I call. I hope Jill got the link to the really cool Bob Marley song I think is truly appropriate for right now.
Love to all of you.
WOW - great to see you up and about Janet. The kids seem to be having a great time, riding wild animals! I am out of town beginning the graduation tour first stop Arizona for my nephew's graduation from U of A. Will give a call next week when I have more control of my schedule. Good thoughts to all....Marge
Hi Janet, Great to see you in MY favourite place too. I never go home without a bag when I volunteer. Frank says this "working" works backwards!!
Amy - Sunday is a better day for me to call, just give me a time. Keep the chin up. Did you get the e-mail from Carol in UK? She wasn't sure if it went.
Love Linda
Hi Janet, Brian, Jill, and Amy,
I'm so happy to see Janet out shopping even if it is in a wheel chair and glad to know that she is all set up to do crossword puzzles. How is Brian doing? (When he's not cruising Home Depot and inventing crossword puzzle racks.) It looks like more people have signed up for calling Janet. I could call Sunday any time, if you need someone else on that day or Monday, Wednesday, Thursday any time next week. Just put me up on your blog, and I'll know. I can't get online every day because something is wrong with my lap top. Phoebe thinks it got a virus, so I have to fight with Joshua for time on his. The kids are in finals this week, so I'll have to wait til my "tech gurus" have time to figure out my problem. I'm sorry to hear that the halo is so heavy, but I agree with the person who said this too will pass. I guess that just one of the downsides of being such an angel. How is physical therapy going aside from the shopping trips to and from the PT room?
Love, Teresa Liu
Janet,
You are looking much improved. I was expecting to see a cast on your leg. Is it casted higher up? Your color looks better too. I hope your liver is functioning normally again. I'll call at 8 am Idaho Falls time on Saturday morning. I hope you had a good shopping trip to the gift shop.
Love & Hugs,
Linda
Thanks for the pictures! Everybody is looking good. My Mom and Dad have been unable to get on the blog recently but I know my Mom would love to talk to Janet. I'll have to check with her to see when she's available.

Janet:
Sorry I interrupted the McDonald's feast and then called at just the wrong time. Just a couple of things to tell you. One, Brittany has sold three stories in the past 2 months. One is at 42 Opus, an online forum. It should hit on Saturday. I have no idea of the content but thought maybe you and Brian might enjoy seeing how far she has come.
The other is still tentative, but I have been invited to join a sports league. I couldn't believe it when they said it was an adult kickball league. Kickball as in the kindergarten playground game. Even I should be able to do that, right? I made sure I wasn't going to be the oldest or most out of shape one and so will drop in on Sunday and see what happens. It is a mixed league and they have to have 5 women playing to make it a legal game; historically, the female element fluctuates greatly so they always need a couple of extra. I am not sure of the rules so I thought I'd pick your brain so I don't seem dumber than a kindergarten student.
Good to see your first shopping event. I bet they didn't have any good sales as I didn't see any bags. But did you get your Diet Coke and your cookie?
Talk to you soon.
Vickie
