Rita is still missing. The only new information is that she definitely survived the crash because the Deputy that responded saw her run away. Amy and Dad spent 8 hours looking along about 2 miles of the highway.
I forgot to report earlier that Dr. Carter was very positive about Mom's recovery except there is some concern from the orthopaedist concerning nerve damage from her broken arm.

Hello Hansens!
Monday is going to be crazy so I am sending in my "reverse Monday" very early am on Sunday. Bob and I had a very quiet weekend. Friday was our 33rd wedding anniversary and though we racked our brains, we couldn't think of anything better than take out and movies with all the rain we were having. Saturday I got up to make Bob's birthday cake--pineapple upside down cake--which I don't really consider a birthday cake as there is no chocolate anywhere. Then I let him take me to MicroCenter (kindof Minnesota's answer to Fry's) where he bought a wireless keyboard for his second computer station in his upstairs office. We had dinner at Outback and then we came home so he could pack for two weeks in Montreal. I am so jealous--he doesn't even speak French! I tried to do my knitting for my class but fouled it up yet again. It is designed to be a class for Beginners Plus and I am sure the Plus means years of experience. I am thinking I am going to be a knitting school dropout. After frustrations with knitting and brothers, I decided to unwind with a couple of chapters from Pride and Prejudice (see Brian, I do still read "good" literature).
As long as I was up, I checked on Janet's progress and it certainly sounds like she is working as hard as she can to get back to fighting shape. Such an amazing woman!
I am sorry that Rita is still MIA; I hope we'll hear some good news soon. I am sure Sylvia is happy to be back with her family.
As soon as the new cat friendly hotel is announced, I will send emergency chocolate rations. Love to you all- Vickie and Bob
I don't have a very exciting life but I will try my best to send "reverse Monday" news. This week I got new glasses frames with a new prescription. Designer yet! Also got my teeth cleaned.
The NICL investment club met Thursday night. We meet on Thursday's because it is easier for Kelly to make it on Thursdays (HA!) and now we meet at Old Dominion U. across the street from the Loudoun Campus courtesy of Linda Sheridan. We have two new members, Sharis who teaches math and Eddie who teaches economics. We just got rid of loser stock GlaxoSmithKline and bought some Apple. Both Ibby and Beccy have been showing off their cuite lime-green little baby computers from an organization the name of which I cannot remember that provides computers to children in the 3rd World.
Saw Vickie's post about knitting and remember when I spent about a half hour trying to show her how to make a loop to start casting on; you may indeed need remedial help, Vickie, but needlework really is relaxing once you get the hang of it. I finished a mammothe 2 year counted cross stitch project of Seurat's "Sunday Afternoon on the Isle of Grande Jette" and am now working on a prayer of St. Francis. Just noticed that the pattern has a spelling error!
It sounds like Janet has continuing better news; I sure hope you find Rita; glad to hear how nice everyone is in Idaho.
Ok, I must object to Aggie's posting. :-) I have knitted three scarves, several dishcloths in three different patterns, a felted tote bag with handles and am working on a felted bowl pattern with increases and decreases! And yes, I finally learned how to make the loop to cast on. However, I am very bad at K1, P1 . . . I do enjoy it but sometimes the relaxing part doesn't show up right away. I promised Janet I would teach her how to do a yarn over--sounds more difficult than it is!
This afternoon I can finally get a few things done since Bob is off to Montreal. I just finished cutting down my roses and they are budding out all over in spite of the trace of snow we had yesterday in the early am hours. I was out shopping for my little grandson as his birthday is the 13th and Grandma earned big points: I found Nemo party things that Brittany couldn't find.
The rest of the week is crazy as I will have my mom every day for about 4-5 hours for the next 12 days. My brother is going to opening fishing and that means the other brother will be running the restaurant and my niece who helps is in the middle of finals. Will be in touch as I can, probably those middle of the night things.
Hope everyone is getting some rest and am looking forward to hearing more good news in the coming days!
The car was going northbound on this road just north of Challis, Idaho, when it went down the embankment on the left side of the picture.
Car vs. tree.
The car impacted this tree and then flipped over its hood, landing on its side facing backward against some other trees.
Miracle
This is a photo of the front passenger side of the Camry after the accident. We're so lucky to have my mom.
Front view.
The bumper was put on the hood for towing purposes.
A good Toyota ad
Despite all the damage on the other side of the car, the driver's side was relatively intact. Thanks to the designers at Toyota, my dad is here to support my mom.
Janet's first helicopter ride
This was the helo that took my mom from the site to this hospital in Idaho Falls, about 150 miles away.
Our home away from home
This is Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Grandkid therapy
Derek and Anna cheer us up every day.

Beach Babe!
