Saturday

Last night (with me) was ugly.  Mom was EXTREMELY uncomfortable and anxious.  So much so that we have a psych eval set for Monday to see if there is anything else we can do for her anxiety.  The doc on the 6th floor switched her anti-anxiety and sleeping meds around, plus they will give her her blood thinner at 8 am and 8 pm instead of sticking a needle in her stomach at 2 am, just after she's fallen asleep each night.  Good planning on that one, eh?  She didn't sleep more than 2 hours at a stretch, so wish me luck tonight.  :)

Mom's good friend, and dutiful blog poster, Vickie and her husband Bob Aanerud will be arriving into our welcome arms tomorrow.  I am hoping to get the kids home for a couple days early in the week to see their long lost father, to pay our bills, and check for Rita.  There have been a few calls from people who have found different cats but saw the posters and one or two from people who saw a cat in the area of the wreck that may or may not have been Rita.  We are following up on the calls as best as we can.

Hey Guys,
Thought I would give you a little report about what is new in Roseville:
Well the Sonic Burger near Petsmart is set to open in the next couple of days and the girls at work are really excited. I can't say why exactly, I went there once and wasn't particulary impressed. The weather here has been terrible. It has been near 100 all week and everyone is having trouble adjusting. Autumn has taken to spending time in the basement to keep cool and Jon doesn't like to move to far away from his fan. Downtown Tuesday nights have started so there is always a bunch of people around on Tuesday nights.
I think that I might take my friend Sarah there since I have Tuesdays off.
I groomed Aunt Connie and Uncle Tom's dog Buffy today. She has developed a taste for chocolate and has been gobbling up any she can find. Her new chocolate habit has meant several trips to the vet recently, but she still seems to want more. I think that Buffy and Uncle Brian will have a lot to talk about when he gets home.
I should be off to bed. You are all in my thoughts and caretakers, do not forget to take time for yourselves. I love you all,

Christine

PS: the poodles send smooches

Hi, Everyone

Glad to see that Brian learned to use the blog and good to hear from him.

It sounds like Janet is having a really rough time, but her spirit is strong and she will pull through to become herself again in time.

I am just finishing up a week in Ohio; I drive back to Virginia tomorrow. I do have one funny story.

My mother and I stopped in a religious book store last week as my mother wanted to replace a lost missal. She went up to the counter to pay and the woman immediately said, "Hi, Mrs. Taormina" and then to the person next to her, "This was my fifth grade teacher." Then she studied me a bit until my mother told her which daughter I was. She had gone to school with my middle sister Angie. Note that my mother taught this woman in 1962; the woman greeted her as if she had last seen her yesterday. I am sure Janet has similar stories from her life in kindergarten.

Again, hugs and best wished to all of you. And caregivers, please take care of yourselves. And can you let us know whether Janet would like/could use CDs or DVDs or books on tape or jigsaw puzzles or anything we can send along to help with her recovery.

Love, Aggie
