I've made it home safely with my children. Barri tucked them in tonight and they were asleep before I could even go in to kiss them. Anna is now, once again, "Daddy's gurrrl" and refuses to be touched by anyone else or more than 3 feet away from him. Anyone want to tell her for me that he's leaving on Friday for 10 days?
I will remain the family blogger from home. So forgive me if the translations are not as accurate as when I was there. Today was a fabulous day for my mom. (and I left...what does that mean?) Seriously, she met with Dr. Vlack, the rehab doc, who said she was so impressed with Mom's progress that she didn't think Mom would need an in-patient facility in California. So the expected arrival date is still around June 1st, but most likely going HOME! She was in great spirits and practically kicked us out the door.
I will be organizing friends and family who can stay for short periods with my mom and dad once they are home and perhaps for the duration of while my mom can't walk (8 weeks). More details to come.
Mom's laptop showed up today and hopefully will be functional by tomorrow. I will let you know if the computer-wifi-email setup works from her hospital room so that you can start emailing her directly, or continue posting on the blog but know that she will be reading the comments personally. Her cell phone is now velcro-ed to her turtle shell...but if you call, don't forget to ask if it's a convenient time...
Eileen--green light on whatever you want to do concerning media coverage of Rita. Let me know what info you need.
Linda--green light on the email to the Missoulian. The more publicity, the better! Have you checked out the walk website? http://www.cfinmt.org/

Welcome home, Jill -- I hope you sleep as deeply and long as you can tonight and all the nights till Barri leaves. Thanks for continuing to oversee the blog. What great news about Janet's progress! I think her boosted spirits should help the anxiety...
Off to bed myself, now -- thanks for the update.
Love, Carolyn
I will find out what newspapers serve the Challis area and start making calls. I think I can pull enough details from the blog but photos will be another story. I will let you know what they want and you can jpg them to me and I will send them with the text. Or, if they prefer to assign their own reporter, I will send it to the editor.
Just being in your own house with your own things, Janet, will work wonders for you emotionally and being emotionally happier definitely speeds up the physical recovery process. Not only that, you will have friends wandering in and out and that will be wonderful.
Love to all of you.
I just e-mailed the Challis Messenger which serves the towns of Challis, Stanely, and Clayton Idaho as well as all of Custer County. I couldn't find any other papers that serve that area. I will be following up with a telephone call tomorrow.
love
Jill,
Now that you are back home, if there is anything you need let us know. Jason and I would be happy to watch the kids anytime you would like. The girls would love to spend time with them.
Talk to you soon,
Gwyn and Jason
I'm glad you and the kids made it safely home, Jill. Thank you for keeping up on the blog.
I am so happy that Janet will get to go straight home. I'm sure she will improve much more quickly there than in a rehab center.
The husband of our youth orchestra conductor is a producer for Fox Local News down here. I left a message for him, asking if he could find out who is counterpart is in the Challis area to see if we could get an "all points kitty alert" on the local news there. He hasn't gotten back to me, and Phoebe told me that the conductor did their gala benefit concert sitting down last Saturday. No one has been home when I call, so I'm not as hopeful about getting that info in a timely manner as I was. The conductor has lots of health problems, so they may be doing their own hospital run. If they get back to me while Brian and Janet are still in Idaho, I will post the info. I hope you find Rita.
Love, Teresa Liu
Hello Jill,
Glad to hear you are home safe and sound and have a few days with Barri anyway. It is so-o good to be able to go on the blog and keep up with Mum's progress and how the rest of you are coping. Get lots of rest and hugs to Janet, Brian and Amy too.
Yes I went on the CFF site and it is all so amazing to me and I know it is heart-wrenching for Janet and Brian to not be participating. I have sent my e-mail to the Post-Register in Idaho Falls, so hope it all works out. The editor is Kortny Rolston.
God Bless and keep up the hard work, Janet. Much Love, Linda R.
