Home safe at last...

I just spoke to my mom, who was reclining on her very own couch in her very own living room. She is doing great! Lots of neighbors and family have already visited and helped. Wonderful, super, thank you! The flight was fast, less than an hour and a half and it was the fire department's ambulance that picked my mom up from the hospital in Idaho. We have nurses scheduled for my mom's next three shots, but my dad has given it to her twice so we have options. Thanks for everyone who put up with my frantic phone messages last night. :)

Tomorrow the wheelchair van is delivered--keep your fingers crossed that she and all her paraphernalia fit inside.

PS-I am scheduled in Hamilton's very next blood drive, on June 10th. Go blood donors!!!

I am thrilled for you both and will call Sunday to talk to you. This gives you a chance to get into the swing of things. I did talk to a reporter about Rita and he and the acting editor sounded very interested. It couldn't hurt to have Rita's photo in the paper and on line. I gave him your phone number, Brian. I figured you are the gatekeeper for Janet. Love you both so much!

What fabulous news! No couch can compare with one's own couch. I'm glad the shots have worked out so far; I just e-mailed Brian about my friend Rose's availability, but it sounds like things are handled there. Sink into home, and know that we'll keep that steady stream of support going.
Love,
Carolyn

Janet and Brian:

I hope you are enjoying home as much as we are. Bob is already upstairs sleeping. We have picked up the mail, gone to the grocery store, called the kids, sent e-mails, gone thru the mail and I am trying to put off unpacking the suitcase with its cargo of unwashed clothes and unread books.

After you all turned off to go straight to the tarmack on Thursday, I swung into the airport and picked up Bob. Our exciting time was spent on lunch and Prince Caspian. Bob is only expected to be home about 3 days in June (plus a couple of weekends) so he wanted to get as many movies in as he could. He thanks Brian very much for being the excuse for Iron Man!

Even though the ambiance of the hospital left much to be desired, Bob and I are so glad that we had so much time to spend with you both. It was also nice to spend time with Amy, Jill and the kids; we really hadn't had much of a chance to get to know them before this. Now I feel much more in the loop!

It was fabulous to see firsthand how much progress you made, janet. I know that the rehab road is tough but so are you. We'll let you settle in and I will call before my out of town company arrives on Monday.
