Mom is on a new floor. All is well, better every day now. Computers have all been shifted around (and Barri left) so posts may be less often. Tonight we spent brainstorming activities that Mom can do left handed. Dad is going to buy her a laptop so she can watch DVDs, play solitaire, email, and listen to audio books on CD. Any other suggestions are welcome!!! She has a phone but can't reach it by herself yet. When she can, we will post her number.
Exciting medical news is all the bad things in her blood are decreasing and she sat up today with her legs hanging off the side of the bed (with much help). Gotta run for my time with Mom! Bye!

This is all great! Rehab/recovery from here requires patience galore, so anything one can do on a computer will be such a help. If she signs on to Skype, she can call anywhere for free. She could learn how to IM, if she doesn't do that already, or create her own blog (Liz has one and could help with that). From my end, my only other idea is one I thought I might challenge myself with this year of turning 60... learning Spanish. A Mexican nun who comes to my retreat suggested an online program called Destinos which is actually in a soap opera/murder mystery format. You keep going to find out who dunnit. I haven't started, but that might be engaging down the road. My friend told me that often the public libraries stock the CDs if you don't want to order the series ($79). Just Google Destinos to find out more if interested. But for now, please feel free to spread out those posts. We appreciate all you've done to keep us posted during the last week. Love to all, Carolyn
We love the good news you have been sharing. To have Janet out of ICU and into a new room sounds wonderful. We thought of another activity for Janet. When she gets her new laptop computer she can shop on-line. We all know how much she loves to shop! We miss you. Love Neil and Elaine
So happy that Janet is recovering. I hope Brian is feeling the relief! Reed and I will be off the web for a few days.

Jenet...
Life is too short to wake up with regrets; so love the people who treat you right.
Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy,
they just promised it would be worth it.
Friends are like balloons; once you let them go, you can't get them back. So, Janet, we're gonna tie you to our hearts so you'll always be with us. We love you!

How wonderful that the focus has shifted from keeping Janet alive to keeping her entertained. Wow. Jill and Amy, thanks again for your frequent updates. I'll continue to check back regularly but will assume that no news is good news. I hope you'll be too busy relaxing and watching movies to post quite so often.
