I'm getting notes from people who know people in Idaho Falls. Maybe you can help us--I am looking for someone who can help me get a babysitter for the kids, just for an hour, tomorrow morning during our meeting with Dr. Cach.

Dr. Krell vs. Dr. Cach....
Dr. Krell is adamant that the brain slowing could be caused by the enzymes from liver damage and pneumonia. Amy confronted him on the fact that he and Dr. Cach are saying such different things and Dr. Krell's opinion is that she would not have such good motor skill if she had a stroke. So.........Amy asked Mom's nurse which dr. she would trust and Abbie said "Dr. Cach likes to give the worse case scenario and then everyone is happy when things go better than expected" Amy will talk to Dr. Krell again during rounds. Mom will get an ultrasound on her liver.

Hey Jill,
Regarding babysitter tomorrow - have you asked the hospital staff? Maybe there's an off-duty nurse. Or if you're having trouble finding someone who knows someone, I have had great success in places where I don't know anyone by calling a church in town. There is likely to be a youth leader who may know someone trustworthy who can do it for you.
I have contacted a statefarm office in Idaho Falls, Waiting for a reply on a sitter for kids.
I will ask my aunt if she can do that for you...I will call today if she can.
Remember that doctors are people with experience in their area of expertise, just like anyone else with experience in a particular area. They each have opinions that often have to be tested to determine the accurateness of their opinion, thus all the tests they order. And, thus the differences of opinion. And, every case they've experienced is different in some way from other cases. My experience with doctors taught me to listen to everything they say, but treat it all as information rather than "truth". Continue to seek information but also be patient. There are probably a lot of maybes and guesses involved, too.
Have faith and believe that Janet will work her way out of where she is in her own good time. All the banging around she experienced probably did a good job of shaking her up so her conciousness and awareness have to sort through everything and get it all back in place, in addition to the healing that takes energy. It sounds to me like she's doing pretty well, considering her injuries. Sitting up for 3 hours and "arguing" with the nurse about the tube placement say a lot.
My brother was in a serious car accident and was in a coma for two weeks. He came out of it though and the time his body was in rest mode helped his recovery.
Remember too, all the prayers from all over the country must be sending some powerful message.
Brian, Jill, and Amy, hang in there with the uncertainty -- even though it feels as if this has been going on forever, it's early considering the multiple injuries. I agree with Sukey that the steady presence of intelligent, concerned family members will elicit the best from these doctors. Liz and I send love and prayers from vacation (Maui) and we're checking the site every day and Lesley, Dorothy, and I have been in phone connection. Janet, you are so loved. Strength to you all, Carolyn
