We met with Dr. Cach this morning. He seems to be sure it was a stroke, but not a massive one. The next step would normally be to put her on blood thinner but with her back surgery they can't for at least 2 weeks. Her condition should improve, but she could always get another clot. She is moving all her limbs, so we hope this will reduce the chance of that happening from inactivity.
Dr. Carter will be taking her gall bladder out today at 4pm. Her liver enzymes are bad again and the gall bladder showed some thickening. It will be laproscopic, but the tricky thing is that Dr. Cach will have to unattach the halo for them to move the chest plate for surgery.
She failed her breathing tests again this morning, but still getting stronger. She was sitting up this morning when we went in.
Our deep gratitude to Amy G. for setting us up with her aunt to watch the kids. They passed the "good behavior test" and she offered to watch them again if we needed. Such a relief to have someone we trust around.

Hi, it's Adrienne again. When I posted the first blog I had trouble with it. Somehow I became annonymous, not on purpose though, so lets hope for the best this time. Computers and I still have a hard time getting along. I'm pretty good at overstock.com though, so if you need any help there let me know.
I was wondering how the scan went yesterday, so I was glad for an update. I've been thinking about you guys alot. Brings back memories when my mom and dad had their car accident...I'm so glad that you guys have been able to be their for each other. I'm still sending lots of prayer your way.
I read Leann's blog about her kids on the roof and thougth maybe it's a recessive Pike gene or something, because we have the same trouble in Santa Barbara with roof activity. Last summer Allie decided that it was her new favorite place to play. She brought some towels, snacks and other various unneccesary roof items up there. I finally had to put my foot down when I saw her taking a pair of stilts up with her! She claimed that they were going to used to support her fort. Hmmm... The other roof game is to climb on the garden shed, walk across the roof, climb on a tree to the other shed and jump off that extra tall shed onto the trampoline. Sometimes there is a flip invovled. I think the stunt man neighbor's kid may have had some influence there. Not sure how my roof is going to hold up with all this non-reindeer activity...
Hugs and Love,

Hey...It's Laurie Burden from the Hospice Thrift Shop warehouse. We're doing OK without you two, but miss you!! The store is featuring "vintage" and that's just about anything I own, so it's no big deal to me. I've been doing a lot of steaming and miss Janet's expertise on Fridays.
We just returned from Mesa, AZ, bringing Chuck's 90 yr. old mom home to Donner Lake for the summer. Our CO granddaughter, Hannah River, was just a year old on Saturday...how time flies! Doggone, wish we were closer to enjoy the fun.
Thanks to all of your family for their outstanding support and sharing information on everything going on there. You are all in our thoughts. Laurie
