Rita and Sylvia

With the commotion of Derek and Anna running around, my friend Lizzy leaving, and Sylvia and Don bringing Rita's carrier into the house, Sylvia cat disappered under my parent's bed. I don't know what triggered it, but within just a few minutes of opening the carrier, Sylvia cat ran out and came nose-to-nose with Rita for the first time in over nine weeks (see video). Then she and Rita wandered down the hall together and Sylvia cat took a hard left and has not come out from under the bed since. Rita continued to check out every single room in the house, even coming out several times to see all of us in the kitchen. Now she is laying on my mom's shoes in the bedroom in a position where she can see Sylvia cat, who is laying with her back turned towards Rita but looks at her over her shoulder. We spent considerable time with Don and Sylvia recounting all the small miracles that added up to this wonderful big miracle of Rita coming home. All of you who played a part--you know who you are--it's just a beautiful thing. My mom is so happy. SO happy. SO HAPPY!!!

Loved the video! I'm sure Sylvia will come out from under the bed soon. What an amazing reunion and the whole story could be in one of those Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul books! Even this dog lover got teary looking at the reunion. Happy day to all of you!
Love,
Carolyn

Amazing. Rita & Sylvia reunited and Janet has her cats again. The family together again.

I called my mother, Peggy, to tell her Rita was home. She said it was the best news she'd heard all day. And she was with me today; I can tell you it was a fine day, even before she heard about Rita!
Love, Lesley

I ;am thrilled beyond beyond. I teared up just hearing Janet say, "I hope you'll stay for lunchg." This is so awesome and joyful and needed and she's safe. Sylvia will come around. Who knows what goes on in cats' heads. I adore cats - and pretty much any creature but a bat, a rat or a snake - but cats keep their own counsel. Like the saying goes,
Dogs have owners. Cats have staff."

Anyway, I am celebrating with you and will call to talk to you in person.

Hello,

My name is Jennifer and I work for the Neurosurgeon Dr. Zusman who has seen your mother here in Sacramento. As I was booking her for this mornings procedure at Sutter General, I ran across this hand written blog for Janet in her chart. So I thought I would look at it. Well after over almost an hour of reading, and learning what a loved woman Mrs. Hansen is I was very touched by her family- that is an understatement.
I believe in miracles and with all the love from your family it shows they do still happen. I kept reading, and reading trying to find out about Rita too. Wow, I never thought I would get so emotional about a cat I have never even met. Thank God she was found and is back with Janet. I just had to write and say what a wonderful family you all are, and Mrs. Janet Hansen is a very special and lucky woman.

God bless and take care,
Jennifer
